Book a session, record your vocals, leave with a track you're proud of.

That's the whole plan. I'll guide you through it myself, backed by nearly 10 years and 1,200+ sessions of experience. If it doesn't feel professional and worth your time, I'll refund your full session payment.

Your Engineer

Hi, I'm Jay. Helping you bring your vision to life is the whole reason I do this.

Jay, vocal recording engineer, in his studio control room

I started by recording my own vocals, then interned at multiple studios to learn the craft. That's where I found out what it actually feels like to want a specific sound and not know how to ask for it.

That's exactly why I listen first, and when you need me to step in and fill the gaps, I'm right there. Nearly 10 years later, that's still the whole approach: getting the sound that's in your head out of the speakers, exactly the way you imagined it.

The process

Here's how the session goes, start to finish.

01

Show Up And Get Oriented

No guesswork. We line up your beat, your references, your tempo, so you are not wasting studio time figuring out direction once you are already in the chair.

02

Record With Someone Guiding You

I run the session and keep the takes organized, so all you have to do is perform. The clean recording is my job, not yours.

03

Hear It Come Together

Before you leave, if there is time, we do a quick mix pass right there in the room: effects, a beat drop, whatever the track needs. You hear it start to sound like a real song before you walk out the door.

04

Walk Out With Something Real

You leave with your files, your stems, and a Dropbox folder already loaded up. Not a rented room and an empty hard drive, actual progress.

The guarantee

The First Session Guarantee

If it doesn't feel professional or worth your time, you don't pay for it. Tell me before we wrap and I'll refund your full session payment, no questions.

This does not mean I can promise your song will become a hit or that every creative choice will be perfect on the first try. It means I stand behind the experience I control: the room, the workflow, the communication, and the way you are guided through the session.

Who this is for

Rappers and R&B singers come here when they're ready to record.

Good fit
  • Independent hip-hop rappers and R&B singers in Northern California.
  • Artists coming from the Bay Area, Sacramento, Rocklin, Yuba City, Chico, and nearby areas.
  • Artists who want to cut vocals over a beat they already have.
  • Artists who want a clean first session in a real studio.
  • Artists who want guidance instead of sitting in the room confused.
  • Artists who want to leave with progress, not just rent an empty room.
Booking

Booking is simple.

I keep the calendar limited to a few artists a week so every session gets my full attention. These are the windows I book.

SunMonTueWedThuFriSat
  • How long2 hour minimum. Book 2, 3, 4, or 6+ hours.
  • Payment50% deposit locks in your booking. The remaining balance is due at the end of the session. Apple Pay, Cash App, Venmo, or Zelle.

I check the room calendar and confirm your session by text. The guarantee covers your full session payment, deposit and balance.

Need to reschedule? Give me at least 24 hours notice and your deposit carries over to the new date, no penalty (one reschedule per booking). Cancellations or no-shows with less than 24 hours notice forfeit the deposit, since I hold that time and pay for the room either way.

FAQ

Still have questions?

What if I have never recorded in a studio before?+

That is fine. The session is built to guide you through the process. You do not need to know every studio term before you walk in.

Do I need a full song ready?+

You should have something ready to record: a song, verse, hook, idea, or beat direction. The more prepared you are, the more we can get done.

Will I leave with a finished song?+

You will leave with your files and stems from what you recorded. If there is time, we also do a quick mix pass right there in the room, effects, maybe a beat drop, so it already sounds like something before you walk out. A full release-ready mix/master is separate and can be discussed after the recording session.

How do I actually book?+

Click "Reserve My First Session," request the time and session length you want, and include your phone number. I will check the room calendar and text you to confirm. Once the 50% deposit is sent, your session is locked in.

What times can I book?+

Tuesday through Saturday sessions run 8 PM to 11 PM. Sunday and Monday are flexible, just ask and we will find a time.

Who does the guarantee apply to?+

It applies to your first paid recording session with me. It does not automatically apply to sessions with other engineers.

What does "worth your time" mean?+

It means the session should feel professional, clear, and guided. If something about the experience is not right, say something before we wrap so I can fix it in the room.
